Why Did You Encounter TikTok Errors?

TikTok is a growing platform that has seen a massive number of users since its launch. On launch day, it was already the most popular application in China. With a large userbase in front of them, TikTok prioritized handling them over fixing minor issues. But the small problems can cause some headaches if a person doesn’t know how to fix them.

TikTok errors can be from both your side and from TikTok. Locally, your settings could mess up with the app leading to TikTok errors. Other apps in your phone could also interfere with TikTok leading to several TikTok errors.

On TikTok’s side, the TikTok errors could be caused by glitches or bugs in the app. There can also be a problem with TikTok’s server leading to TikTok errors. Regular updates usually fix these on the TikTok app.

Here are some reasons why you would encounter TikTok errors:

    • Bad Internet Connection
    • Low Battery
    • Server Error
    • TikTok app not updated
    • Cache problem
    • Storage is full
    • Permissions problems

All of these causes can provoke several TikTok errors.

    What Are Common TikTok Errors?

Some errors are more common than others. While others appear more rarely. Although, the more familiar the error, the more easily it can get fixed. However for rare TikTok errors, you need to get more technical or get help from official sources like customer support.

You can fix common errors quickly, and we will show you how. Here is a list of recurring TikTok errors that you find every day:

    • TikTok is not connecting to the internet.
    • TikTok is not loading videos.
    • Not saving videos.
    • TikTok app is crashing constantly.
    • TikTok video not working after sharing.
    • App is not letting me log in.
    • TikTok server is not responding.
    • TikTok is not deleting my account.
    • Not deleting my video.

If you have a common error like the TikTok errors listed here, you’re in luck. We might just have the solution for them in this guide.

How To Fix Common TikTok Errors?

    Tiktok error

    Restart Your Device

The fastest fix is what you would do with all tech-related issues. Firstly, restart the device you have downloaded TikTok from. Smartphones now have dozens of applications installed due to their increasing storage size.

Excessive use of multiple apps can cause your memory to build up. In other words, many users forget that all their apps are still working in the background if they just press the home button. To properly finish an app, you need to clear it in multitasking. If an app stays in multitasking, it still takes up significant memory.

However, if multitasking doesn’t clear the problem, you can try restarting your device. Restarting puts your device in a fresh state with clean memory. This means issues caused by other apps interfering with TikTok will now be gone. However, if the simple fix doesn’t work, you can move on to more complex solutions.

    Update Your TikTok App

Updates are meant to fix problems that are occurring for everyone. Bugs left by TikTok’s developers can cause these. Updates regularly come as the TikTok app constantly adds new features. Unfortunately, new features never come bug-free. So, the app will always continue to update.

Moreover, updates are automatically downloaded. However, if you have low storage or have disabled the feature to download updates automatically, you need to do it manually.

To manually update your TikTok app:

    1. Go to your device’s application stores, such as the Play Store and App Store.
    2. Then, go to the downloaded app section.
    3. Navigate to TikTok and select it.
    4. If an update is available, the open button will be replaced by an update button.
    5. Lastly, tap on the update button to update
    6. Update time depends on your internet connection.

    Check Internet

If you have low internet speed, it can lead to several TikTok errors such as TikTok videos not uploading or TikTok Log in error. The internet is required to use TikToks. This is because we use the internet to access TikToks servers where all its data is stored. If we cannot access TikTok’s server, the TikTok app will not work.

You can check your internet by going to a speed test website. If you feel your speed is low, you can try restarting your Wi-Fi device. Furthermore, you can also bring up the matter of your slow internet to your ISP. They can get you professional help to fix your internet.

Switching to Wi-Fi over from cellular data is also a good choice. This is because Wi-Fi has more consistent signals than cellular data. This means losses of connections are less if you are on Wi-Fi.

    Final Thoughts

TikTok has a large pool of problems that have no solutions. If you don’t find a common answer to your situation, you can always refer to our specific TikTok errors guide below. On the other hand, you can also contact TikTok support for a professional opinion. We hope we have solved your TikTok errors.

  • Why Has My TikTok Been Banned: Here’s How To Get Your Account Back

Why Has My TikTok Been Banned: Here’s How To Get Your Account Back

TikTok is a popular video-sharing app, which has taken off in the last few years. The app which was once considered for young people is now used by people of all ages. Although the app hasn’t gone without its controversy, the platform is loved by many people.

However, users are finding themselves banned, and sometimes this is wrongfully done. If you’re wondering why has my TikTok been banned, we have a list of reasons why and how you can get your account back.

Why has my TikTok been banned

Why Has My TikTok Been Banned?

If you’ve been banned from TikTok, this can be frustrating, to say the least. But when you’re unsure why this has happened, this can make for further annoyance. As it can with any platform ban, such as Instagram.

TikTok has a range of reasons for banning its users, these include:

    • Breaching Community Guidelines – including content that is illegal.
    • Sexually Explicit content
    • Spam messages or comments
    • High follow amounts in a short time
    • Blackmail threats
    • Sharing graphic content
    • You’re under 13

However, there have been times when TikTok disables accounts in error. TikTok advises these are human moderation errors. However, unless you notice this early on, you may not be able to gain access to your account, even if it is done in error.

Types of TikTok ban and what they mean

Why Has My TikTok Been Banned?

Depending on why your TikTok account has been banned, will depend on how long your ban is. There are 3 types of the ban on TikTok, these are:

    • Temporary ban
    • Shadowban
    • Permanent ban

    A temporary ban on TikTok

A temporary ban is usually imposed when TikTok restricts an account. This is usually done when an account is considered to be spamming the platform. Usually via uploading too many videos or following a large number of people in a short time period

    Shadowban

If you find yourself subject to a shadowban, you will still be able to upload, however, TikTok will restrict what users can see. In terms of your videos and other content, TikTok will stop this from being featured in any of the algorithms. Also, TikTok removes your posts from the hashtags you use.

A shadowban usually lasts around 14 days, you can continue upload as normal, but you’re likely to get fewer views.

If you are unsure whether you’ve had a shadowban put on your account, head to your statistics on your ‘for you’ page, and if you notice large drop-in views, this is a clear indicator. Another way to find out if you’ve been shadowbanned is via checking the hashtags you upload to and see if your post appears, if it doesn’t, this is a shadowban.

    Permanent ban

If you are a regular rulebreaker on TikTok or you’re regularly being reported for your content this can result in a permanent ban. It’s easy to find out if you’ve been banned from the social media giant, as whenever you open your TikTok profile you will get a pop-up that says ‘Your account was permanently banned due to multiple violations of our community guidelines.’

When this happens to be the case, you may find it harder to fight an appeal, however, if you believe you did nothing wrong or were banned in error, here’s how to regain access to your TikTok account.

How to regain access to banned TikTok

Photo by Josh Rose on Unsplash

When looking to make your way around the ban, there are some methods you can try in order to get your account back in good standing. Although these methods aren’t instant, they should get your account unbanned.

Wait for the ban to be lifted

If you only have a temporary ban, then the best and easiest way to get it resolved is to wait for it to be lifted, which of course isn’t ideal. However, you can still challenge a shadowban, however, it is unknown the number of cases that have been overturned in this status. Please be aware, if you leave it too long without claiming, TikTok will no longer consider your appeal.

    How to submit an appeal

Getting your account unbanned can be a complex process, but worth it if you believe your account was banned incorrectly. Submitting an appeal is easy if you know what you’re doing, so here’s how to submit an appeal in 4 easy steps.

    1. Open TikTok, and you should get a notification advising you are banned
    2. Click the notification, tap appeal, then you will be taken to the appeals page
    3. Write your reasoning for why you believe your account has been banned incorrectly e.g. you’ve followed all of the community guidelines
    4. Then submit the claim, there may be quite a long delay for your account to be reinstated, unfortunately.

    Has my TikTok been deleted?

    @Mehaniq via Twenty20

TikTok deletes your account if you frequently break the community guidelines, as per most social media. Another reason TikTok users find their account deleted is if they joined TikTok when they were under the age of 13. As you need to be 13 in order to have an account. TikTok deleted 7.5 million under 13’s accounts in the first 3 months of 2021 alone.

You may also notice if you breach any TikTok advertising rules then you may risk being instantly banned and having your account deleted. Usually, TikTok will reject the video being posted if it violates their policy.

How to recover my deleted account?

If you decide to go ahead and delete your TikTok and then later change your mind, you may be able to get it back. However, after a certain period of time, the account will be permanently removed. If your TikTok is only in the deactivation phase. If you are not sure how to re-enable your deleted account, here’s how to regain access to your account with ease:

    1. Open the TikTok app, then choose the ‘Me’ icon from the bottom right-hand corner
    2. Select the ‘sign up’ option from the middle part of the screen
    3. After that tap log in, in the bottom right-hand corner
    4. Select use phone/email or username depending on how you signed up
    5. Then choose email/username in the upper right and corner
    6. Enter your TikTok username and password that you previously used
    7. Tap the Login button
    8. Next, you should see a message which states ‘your TikTok account is currently deactivated’
    9. Finally, tap cancel deactivation and retrieve your account back.

If you decide you want a break from TikTok deleting the app is a great alternative as it means you are not able to access it as quickly.

    Conclusion

If you follow the terms and community guidelines set out by TikTok then you shouldn’t have an issue with your account. However, it is worth noting errors can happen on TikTok’s side. Therefore, if you believe your account was permanently banned in error, we suggest following the simple steps to appeal the decision.

We have the information on the latest copyright rules and regulations that you need to consider. If you’re unsure about copyright and what it means or if you’re partaking. We’ve got you covered. In our easy guide to understanding copyright and also how to work around it.

Are TikTok videos copyrighted on YouTube?

If you use short bursts of copyrighted music in a TikTok video allowed on the platform and then upload them to YouTube, you may face some errors. Uploading these videos with the sound on them can breach copyright guidelines.

Many songs that are ok to be used on TikTok are not allowed on YouTube videos as the rights are not the same.

If you intend to upload your TikTok videos/ or compilation videos from TikTok to YouTube, you need to make sure that you remove any music which doesn’t belong to you.

TikTok fan? Will someone know if you follow them – find out here!

    Are TikTok videos copyrighted?

TikTok advises that they respect its users’ intellectual property rights and expect the same back in return from them. The TikTok community guidelines recommend that sharing, posting or sending any content that violates or infringes someone else’s copyrights, trademarks, or intellectual property can result in the removal of content.

It’s also worth noting sometimes it can result in a ban on your account. Sometimes, the creator can take further action against those who breached the copyright agreement.

How to get around TikTok copyright music?

To avoid copyright on TikTok, add sound to your video via the TikTok editor. Although it may be tempting to use a third-party editing app, doing it via TikTok makes the process easier and is less likely to get your video claimed. Here’s how you go about fixing your video, so TikTok doesn’t copyright it.

    • If your video already includes a copyrighted song, the way to avoid this being taken down is by adding your sound to it and turning the original down to 0.
    • Using the TikTok app to add sound will not get your video taken down, as TikTok will already have its licensing. In order to use this, you need a personal account as the copyright licensing is different for a business account.
    • If you choose to use a third-party app, be sure not to use any songs you don’t have the licensing. As TikTok will autodetect this and will just set your video to private.

How to upload a TikTok video on YouTube without copyright?

If you’re unsure as to whether you can upload a video from TikTok without copyright, we’d recommend undergoing these steps first to protect your video from being copyrighted:

    • Modify the audio
    • Crop video footage
    • Add a video overlay
    • Include a voiceover

If you’re unsure how to do any of these steps, keep reading for further information on how to do each one.

    Modify the audio:

Considering a lot of TikTok’s include popular music and when uploaded to YouTube. They will then be instantly banned on copyright grounds. Therefore if you plan on adding any TikTok’s with popular music on to YouTube, make sure you remove the audio if possible or add a different royalty-free track over the top. If this is a lip sync video, this may not work.

    Crop video footage:

This is an excellent way around the copyright on YouTube. By cropping video footage, it is more likely to be seen as unique. Crop video footage before uploading it or upload it as part of a compilation, this proves less likely to flag as it isn’t in its original format.

    Adding a visual video overlay:

Have you ever watched a TikTok/Vine compilation on YouTube? You will notice they always have something around the outside? Whether that is a black border, a channel logo, or flipping the video, these are all ways to make your content look unique to YouTube.

    Include a voiceover:

Using a voiceover can fix your copyright issue, as YouTube allows a fair usage policy. Meaning small bursts of video from YouTube/other channels can be used. However, this is usually only a very short clip. Adding your voice on top of a video can fix the issue with ease.

Is it legal to download TikTok videos?

Photo by Kari Shea on Unsplash

Most TikTok videos are freely available to download, as, unlike other social media platforms, TikTok has the option to save the video to your device in a matter of steps. When you choose to download the TikTok video, you will be offered a choice of where to download the video, such as other programs like Whatsapp and Messanger or even just directly to your gallery.

Although you can download most videos in this way. Be sure that the video you want to download isn’t protected. If it is, you will be unable to locate the option to download the video. To do this you will have to use 3rd party apps – however, this can be risky in terms of copyright, especially if you share it elsewhere.

Whether you’re a YouTuber or TikToker, following copyright rules is super important to protect yourself and your work. If you’re unsure of which laws apply, be sure to check out the terms of service for the site.

  • If You Follow Someone On Tiktok Will They Know: Find Out Here

If You Follow Someone On Tiktok Will They Know: Find Out Here

TikTok is a platform that has changed the internet in a big way. It’s often referred to as a replacement for the 2016 app Vine. However, thanks to lockdowns worldwide and the variety of content on the platform, TikTok is a sensation. With over 2 billion users on the site, you’re always going to find something to watch. Like all other social media platforms, there are ways to keep up with the content you enjoy regularly. TikTok has a like feature alongside a follow button. Building followers on TikTok might seem complicated, but if you go viral, you can become an internet sensation overnight.

If you’ve just joined TikTok and wonder how the following system works on the platform, you’ve come to the right place. Whether you want to know if you follow someone on TikTok will they know? How to make your account private or how to gain followers, we have the answers right here.

If you follow someone on TikTok, will they know?

    Tiktok profile

If you follow someone on TikTok will they know? The answer to this is yes. TikTok provides users with the info of who followed them, just as you would with any other platform. If they have their notifications turned on they’re more likely to notice than if they don’t. You can also view your followers on your profile, and however, if you have a large number of followers, it may be more challenging to find out who exactly followed you via this method.

Note: if you follow someone by accident and unfollow straight away, the notification may still appear.

Can you find out who viewed your TikTok video?

Unfortunately, you cannot determine who specifically viewed your TikTok; however, you can see how often your video has been watched. Watching TikTok without an account means tracing who has considered the content would be more difficult.

How do I see my insights on TikTok?

In 2019 TikTok introduced a pro version for creators to get a deeper insight into their stats. Similar to an Instagram business account, TikTok Creator provides you with a range of stats that you wouldn’t be able to see otherwise. This includes finding out how your videos are performing when you gain the most followers, and what your levels of engagement are like.

Who viewed my profile on TikTok?

Image by Kon Zografos from Pixabay

This used to be a feature on TikTok. However, back in 2020, the social media platform decided to remove this feature. Before this, users would get a notification when their profile was visited and who saw it. TikTok has not confirmed why they decided to remove this feature, but some users have found it inconvenient.

How do you view someone on TikTok without them knowing

TikTok no longer offers analytics to show who viewed your profile. You do still get notified about users watching your profile videos. So if you want to avoid this altogether and stay anonymous, you do this by logging out. If you’re not logged into an account, the user will be unable to know who watched a video.

    Who unfollowed me on TikTok?

Unfortunately, there is no way to find out who unfollowed you on TikTok. If you have a smaller following, it should be pretty easy to work out who is missing. However, if you have many followers, it is pretty much impossible to tell who is no longer following you.

There are 3rd party apps that will advise who is following you (and who unfollows you on TikTok), but you cannot see this directly from TikTok.

Can I make my TikTok profile private so nobody can see it?

As you can no longer see who is viewing your profile, this may make you uncomfortable. In this case, it is recommended that you put your profile on private. If you’re unsure of how to do this, follow our easy step by step guide below:

    • Tap the ‘me’ icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the app
    • Next, click the three vertical dots in the upper right-hand corner of the page
    • Choose privacy, and then you should see a toggle next to private account.
    • Toggle on if you’re looking to make your account private.

As your account is then private, users who don’t want to view your content will be unable to do so without following you first. This idea isn’t ideal if you want to go viral or grow your following, as it may put others off.

How To Get More Views On TikTok: Secrets For Going Viral

Learning how TikTok works can seem tricky to start with. However, once you get the hang of it, you’ll never want to stop. With ongoing trends, extraordinary features and ounces of content to watch daily, TikTok is a great way to gain followers (and fame).

Whether you’re a newbie to TikTok or you’ve been attempting it for a while but aren’t happy with the views you are getting, we are pleased to help.

Whether you’re looking to gain knowledge about the algorithm, learn about hashtags or trends or work out how to achieve more views, we have the answers for you. So how to get more views on TikTok and what you need to know.

    Understanding the TikTok algorithm

First things first, like most social media sites, understanding the algorithm is key. There are a few things to understand regarding the Tik Tok algorithm. When learning about TikTok, here are some factors to consider:

    • Relevant content does well – if you’re posting relevant content, you’re more likely to be boosted on TikTok.
    • Navigate the for you page – understanding how to create content similar to what you like can be a great benefit.
    • Keeping tabs on the discover section – by using the discover section to look for content you enjoy is a great way to learn about what is popular now and how you can tap into a current trend.

Other main points to consider when trying to crack the algorithm are the times you post and the other being what you post.

    Understanding optimal times to post

Depending on what you upload and who you are trying to attract will vary the time you post. Another thing to consider is where your target audience lives. If you have most of your viewers in another country instead of the UK, posting in different time zones such as EST or PST. Using a scheduling tool is a great way to test out other times to post and find out how successful they are.

    Posting useful content

Posting content that other users will find helpful, can help you to gain more views. If it is put out to the right audience at the right time, your views could skyrocket. If you are a specialist in a field, then this is a great place to start. However, content such as hacks and tips, beauty routines, and advice is popular.

    Use TikTok captions

The transition from another platform such as Facebook or Instagram to TikTok can be confusing, as TikTok is all about the captions. Unlike fellow social platforms, TikTok is all about the video as opposed to long reels of text. As the app is designed to be used on mobile, TikTok advise only to use short captions. Not only is this great for keeping things interesting, but it also allows you to build suspense. E.g. part 1 and 2.

Are you getting a TikTok network error? Here’s how to fix this with ease.

    Get with the trends

TikTok is known for creating trends. Whether the movement is with fashion, involves food, new music or creating dances. If something is successful overnight, it is likely it came from TikTok. Some recent trends which have been hugely successful, not only for TikTokers but also for businesses, include interesting Starbucks drinks from the ‘secret menu’ Churro frappucino being made into a menu item due to TikTok. Bringing back old fashion trends has been a vast hit with the rush in sales as Crocs and Phone Accessories.

TikTokers are known for bringing new and upcoming trends to the table.

Although getting with the trends is important on TikTok, don’t force content that doesn’t fit within your usual style, else this may do the opposite, and your followers may no longer be interested in your content.

Making the most of TikTok music

One of the highest-rated features of TikTok is the accessibility to music. Using sounds and music within the app play a significant part in your content being discovered. If you’re looking to get a boost in views, keep the latest trending music in mind. As this is likely to capture the attention of other TikTokers and ultimately bring you more views.

Adding short bursts of songs to lip-sync or as part of a dance trend is highly popular. The sounds are also great if you are releasing your own music, as you can share snippets of your music for others to hear.

    It’s about who you know.

This is one of those times where it’s about who you know as opposed to what you know. Collaborating with successful TikTokers can be beneficial for growth on the platform. With collaborations to make sure it is helpful to collaborate with those in a similar niche, to allow you to benefit from their followers.

How to get views on TikTok hashtags

Pick a select few categories you fit in with and search for hashtags around that content. Although, make sure you’re not using basic overused hashtags such as #tiktok or #tiktoker or even #viral. When locating which hashtags will work for your content, not all need to be super specific, as using popular hashtags can also help. However, it is also known that using irrelevant hashtags on TikTok can backfire. Always make sure you’re using relevant hashtags in your content.

But making sure they’re not oversaturated before taking the time to use them is critical.

If you’re unsure of what TikTok hashtags to use, Influencer Marketing Hub provides some examples on their post.

    Optimize your Tiktok content page

Optimizing your content page can significantly impact gaining followers, building up your brand, and of course, getting views. When someone clicks on your profile, you’re more likely to get people to stay around if you have a bio and a picture. When optimizing your page, here are some key things to consider:

    • Adding emojis – makes your page more appealing, allows viewers to engage and showcases what you’re all about
    • If you’re looking for more followers or gaining attention elsewhere, be sure to add a call to action in your bio, e.g. check out my shop here.

Make your Tiktok videos visually appealing.

As well as optimizing your content page, it is also worth optimizing your videos. You can create funny, unique, and enjoyable content, but it’s less likely to do well if the video isn’t visually appealing. When making your TikTok videos, ensure your lighting is good, and the scenery matches what you are creating.

    Tiktok strategies for increasing engagement

If you’re unsure where to start when it comes to increasing engagement, here are some of the top ways to increase engagement on TikTok.

    • Engage the user quickly, so they want to stay around
    • If your video is 60 seconds, make sure every second counts
    • Give valuable content
    • Post daily at a specific time
    • Engage with your audience
    • Keep users on the edge of the seats with overlay captions to cause suspense.
    • Share videos across your social media and not just TikTok
    • Use transitions and transformations for cool videos
    • Work on what is trending at the moment. Recreate your own version.

How to get more views on my TikTok live

TikTok live first was introduced in 2019 and is a great way to stream content in real-time, do a Q&A, or create much longer content, as TikTok live can be 60 minutes long! However, you have to be 16 and have 1000 followers to get the TikTok live feature.

Celebrities and influencers are known for doing lives when it comes to apology videos, and it is a way to quickly get a message out there and get instant reactions from fellow TikTokers. But if you’re not a celebrity and are looking to go live on TikTok, what content gets the most views?

    • Storytime videos are still hugely popular across social media. Once a significant hit on YouTube, they’ve now made their way over to TikTok. Stories about celebrities, life experiences and controversial topics always rack up the views.
    • Go live with a co-host – if you’re looking to collaborate with another TikToker, you can do so on a live no matter where you are in the world.
    • Cooking videos on TikTok live can be highly successful.

How to go viral on TikTok

Unfortunately, there isn’t a foolproof guide to going viral on TikTok, but you can judge specific criteria based on previous viral content. Viewing viral videos that have captured a lot of attention is a great way to understand what makes a viral post. Using the discover section/for you page to understand what is popular and turn popular trends into your viral video.

But it has been noted that creating a challenge on TikTok offers a higher possibility of going viral. Encouraging others to participate is a great way to spread your trend. Creating your own hashtag for your challenge, will lead other users to your content or even back to your page.

Whether you’re a TikTok newbie or a long time creator, we hope this post has provided you with some helpful insight on how to get more views on TikTok.
