How to Add A Link to TikTok Bio
You can add a link to your TikTok bio by simply changing your personal profile to a business account. A TikTok business profile will allow you to include a clickable link where other users on the platform will be able to press to be automatically taken to your website.
How to change to a business account on TikTok:
Step 1. Log onto your ‘Profile’
Step 2. Select the three lines at the top of the page
Step 3. Under Account click on ‘Manage Account’
Step 4. You will now be able to choose ‘Switch to Business Account’
You will now be able to follow the necessary steps.
Step 5. Click on ‘Edit Profile’
Step 6. Now choose ‘Add your Website’
Once you have saved your changes, you will now have a clickable link in your TikTok bio.
How to Add a Link to TikTok Bio Without Business Account
If you do not want to change your TikTok profile over to a Business account, you can add a link to your bio in your personal profile, however, users will be unable to click on it and be redirected to a different page.
You can link your other social media accounts to your TikTok profile. For example, this will automatically take users to your Instagram or YouTube profile.
Step 1. Open your TikTok and get onto your Profile
Step 2. Select ‘Edit Profile’
Step 3. In the Bio section, you can type your website URL
Step 4. Under ‘Social’ click on Instagram or YouTube
You will be redirected to log into your social media account to link your profile to TikTok.
Can you Switch Between TikTok Accounts?
You can switch between having a personal or business account by changing your profile in the settings section of TikTok.
When doing so, if you have a website URL included in your business profile, it will not be clickable when you change over to a personal account.
It may be worthwhile to have more than one TikTok account if you want to have a professional and personal profile.
Can You Have Two Accounts on TikTok?
TikTok gives you the option to have a maximum of three accounts on one device.
It is important to note that if you do make use of the multiple TikTok account feature, you need to be conscious of not engaging in ‘spammy’ activities, otherwise TikTok will think you have created different accounts under false information, and potentially suspend your account.
How to Make Another TikTok Account:
Step 1. Log onto your Profile
Step 2. Open ‘Settings and Privacy’
Step 3. Under ‘Login’ click on ‘Switch Account’
Here, you will be able to ‘Add Account’. This is where you will be able to change between your different profiles.
Benefits of TikTok Business Account
With a clickable link added to your bio through a business account only, there are ample benefits when changing from a personal to a professional account. Content creators specifically use a TikTok business account to market their businesses, and/or professional social media accounts, eg; a YouTube channel.
Adding to the ability to promote yourself as a content creator and gain a larger follower base, other benefits include;
- Available Analytics – You can track the performance of your videos. This includes how many views it has attained, how long a person stayed on your video etc.
- Specialized Resources – TikTok has certain functions that are included in a business account. This includes real-time tracking and promoting features
- Paid Ads – You can include paid ads on your account
- Reach an International Audience – Using TikTok as a business account will allow you to reach an international audience and get your business noticed worldwide.
- Option to Partner with Other Influencers – You can partner up with other business profiles to expand your marketing and gain more traffic to your website
So, is TikTok worth it for business? It is. To summarise, TikTok allows you to market your business on an international platform while being able to track how well your content is performing.
(Did you know, the original TikTok app, Douyin, took around 200 days to develop the app before it was released in China in 2016. It then became the most downloaded app in the USA in 2018).
Why are TikTok Links Not Working?
A TikTok URL link will not work if you copy it directly from the app. This is because the app will shorten the URL. If you want to insert the same link into your video from an already posted video, you will need to get the full URL. This can be done by following these simple steps;
Step 1. Copy the link from the video
Step 2. Access the web browser and paste the link into the search bar
Step 3. When the full URL loads, copy it
You will now be able to attach the complete link to your new upload.
If you are trying to click on a link, and you are not being redirected to the website, this could be due to your TikTok app experiencing a service issue. If you notice your TikTok videos will not load there may be a connectivity issue with your app.
To get the added URL’s working again, you can log out of your account and log back in after restarting your device.
Tip, clear the cache files from your TikTok profile, as this will free up space and eradicate any faulty files.
