How to Fast Travel in New World

Fast Travelling is a feature in New World that allows you to stop having to tramp through every region in  Aeturnum to get to your desired location.

It is extremely efficient to use as it not only saves you time but also slims down the chances of your character getting obliterated while having to traipse through every settlement.

So what is needed to fast travel in New World?

Requirement 1. Azoth

Azoth is the game’s currency in the formation of a magical potion and is used to pay for a journey between one settlement and the next.

The amount of Azoth you’ll need to spend depends on how far you are wanting to travel, and the obstacle level.

There is a set amount of 50 Azoth per travel, and then 5 Azoth per 100 meters on the distance you will be traveling. You will also be charged for the amount of weight you are carrying, at 5 Azoth per 10 weight.

Paying to fast travel can end up being quite pricey, so how do you get Azoth in New World?. Replenishing your Azoth can be achieved by completing the main quests. You can also get a hold of some extra Azoth when it falls from enemies that are on level 20 or more.

If you are part of a faction or a company, you could be granted a discount towards your Azoth cost.

Requirement 2. Known location

You will not be able to fast travel to a destination that you have not been to before. Fast traveling is available to settlements that you have been to already. (only once is necessary)

This is also valid for outposts and spirit shrines in that certain zone area you want to go to.

Requirement 3. You need to be in a settlement

When you are planning on fast traveling to a different region, you will need to have put yourself in a settlement area as you will not be able to select the option to fast travel if you are located in a different area.

You can also fast travel by making use of the Inns & Housing

If you have checked in at an Inn previously, you will be able to fast travel back to that inn. This is done by selecting the Inn’s picture on the map.

Note, you will need to set this Inn as a fast travel point.

Recalling back to an inn is free, and can be used in any location rather than having to be in a settlement, the only downside is that you can recall to an Inn only once every 60 minutes.

If you are an owner of a house in New World, you are able to fast travel to it without having to pay Azoth from anywhere on the map.

The only limitation is that you can only fast travel back to your home every 2 -4 hours. You can, however, use your Azoth (between 10 and 50 depending on how much time you have to wait) to get rid of the waiting time before fast traveling again.

Why can I not fast travel New World

Why can’t I fast travel

If your New World game is having glitches, it may be experiencing server issues.

You can check the server status of New World first, before going through the troubleshooting options. This will confirm if regions are offline or undergoing maintenance which results in certain features to not work properly.

Other possible reasons why Fast Travel is not working could be;

Reason 1. You have run out of Azoth

If you have inadvertently run out of Azoth, your Fast Travel will not be able to work. Completing more quests will need to be done so you can replenish your currency to be able to pay for Fast Travel.

Reason 2. Your character is too heavy

There have been reports confirming that gamers have found being ‘too heavy’ in the game because they have all of their items on them interferes with being able to Fast Travel.

Storing your belongings somewhere and making yourself lighter can eradicate issues when trying to fast travel.

Reason 3. The game thinks you are somewhere else

You may be situated in a certain settlement that you want to fast travel from, but your game thinks you are somewhere else, which does not warrant fast traveling.

You can sort this issue out by making use of the ‘Unstuck’ command, which will refresh your location and make sure it is up to date.

If you log out of your New World game and wait around 5 minutes, this will reset the connection between your New World game and its server.

Another troubleshooting tip would be to restart your router by switching it off and unplugging it for a couple of minutes.

Conclusion

With fast travel being one of the main features in the New World game, providing a shortening of your travel time, protecting you from being vulnerable when trampling through settlements, and aiding in completing quests successfully, it’s no surprise you would want this issue to be rectified as quickly as possible.

We hope this guide has given you all the necessary information required for you to be able to Fast Travel your way through Aeturnum without any more setbacks, and that you have even more knowledge to make the most of your gaming experience.
