Riot Games has put forward a classic online multiplayer video content, League Of Legends, which brings outstanding music with multiple seasons of soundtracks, so when you find that your League Of Legends sound is not working, it’s something you’re going to want to fix right away.
Choosing the right audio output and ensuring you select the correct device to run your sound will normally fix this audio issue.
If not, we have created this easy guide to help restore the loss of audio to your league of legends so you can enjoy the sound of battle once again.
Why does my League of Legends have no sound?
With League of Legends being a MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena), champions need to be able to hear their enemies fast approaching, as well as their teammates so they can strategize to ruin the other team’s base.
So if you are using yourself; ‘Why is my sound system not working’, we have the possible reasons outlined for you;
Reason 1. Computer and in-game sound settings are incorrect
You have audio settings for your computer as well as on your League of Legends application.
If one of these two settings is incorrectly put, the audio will not play properly. Your sound setting could possibly be muted.
Reason 2. Incorrect Audio input/output
If you are making use of a headset or not, your audio settings may have the wrong output device selected.
This just means your sound will be trying to play through a device that has not been connected, causing the audio to be ‘lost’.
Changing your output settings during the game may interfere with these settings.
Reason 3. Outdated sound drivers
The sound drivers on your PC may be outdated or contain corrupted software that is causing your audio to not play properly.
Updating these drivers will override the current software downloaded, and improve the performance so your audio can play without any interferences.
How do I fix the audio on League Of Legends?
Fix 1. Check audio settings on PC
The sound settings on your PC may be set incorrectly without you realizing it. Checking the volume mixer setting on your PC will show you all the audio settings available.
Note, before accessing the Volume Mixer settings, make sure you have launched League Of Legends first, otherwise, it will not show up.
Step 1. Right-click on the volume image at the bottom of your screen
Step 2. Select ‘Open Volume Mixer’
Step 3. Check to see that all volume settings are set to high, and LoL has not been muted
A further setting to check on your PC is the ‘Playback’ settings. Here you will be able to make sure the sound is set to ‘stereo’ and not ‘surround’ as well as ensuring the output settings are set to speaker or headphones depending on what you are using.
Fix 2. Check Output setting
Step 1. Right-click on the volume button
Step 2. Select ‘Sound Settings’
Step 3. Click on ‘More Sound Settings’
Step 4. In the ‘Playback’ tab, first, make sure the correct output has been selected
Step 5. With the right one highlighted, click on ‘Configure’
Step 6. Make sure the ‘Audio Channel’ is set to ‘Stereo’
You will now be able to move on to checking the in-game sound settings of League Of Legends.
Fix 3. Check in-game audio settings
Step 1. Launch League Of Legends
Step 2. Go into ‘Settings’
Step 3. Choose the ‘Sound’ option on the left-hand side
Step 4. Check to see that all volume settings are set high and none are muted
Step 5. At the end of the page, make sure you have not activated ‘Disable All Sound’
Once these settings have been checked and amended, exit, and restart your game.
Fix 4. Update drivers
With the outdated sound driver being a cause for League Of Legends sound not working, updating this will improve its performance and get rid of any corrupted software.
This can be completed automatically, by downloading Driver Easy and following its on-screen steps, or, updating the drivers manually;
Step 1. Open your ‘Device Manager’
Step 2. Select the ‘Audio Inputs and Outputs’ tab
Step 3. Right-click on the ‘Microphone’ or ‘Speaker’ option
Step 4. Click on ‘Update Drivers’
Once the updates have been completed (if there is one available), restart your computer.
