    Fix 1. Make sure you are logged in as an admin

    Users have reported that they’ve had issues downloading the software correctly when they aren’t the admin of the computer. By signing in to the admin profile, you can use the administrator access privileges to make sure PowerDirector is downloaded correctly. When not signed in as the admin, other users won’t have the same access as the admin account.

    Fix 2. Remove Unicode Characters

    The installation of the product may also encounter issues if your account Windows administrator user contains Unicode or double-byte characters such as Chinese and Japanese characters. Therefore CyberLink recommends creating a whole new user with only English characters and then trying to redownload the software again.

    Fix 3. Use a lower resolution

    Some users of CyberLink PowerDirector have reported an issue of getting a black screen when trying to playback a video they’ve created.

    This black screen issue is caused by the Resolution of your screen being too high. As PowerDirector does not support resolutions higher than 1280 x 1024. Therefore in order to resolve this, you will need to change the resolution to 1024 x 768 or 1280 x 1024.

    Due to this erroring in the middle of installation, you will have to remove the software with the CyberLink Cleaner Tool. Which can be downloaded directly from their website, once this has been downloaded here’s how to install it

    1. Unzip the downloaded CyberLink tool, using a file extracting software
    2. Double click on the product which is called CLCleaner-product _version.exe
    3. Then restart your PC and then reinstall your PowerDirector program once again.

    Fix 5. Check your computer specs

    In order to run PowerDirector, you will need the following Windows computer specs. If your Device encounters problems, it could be due to the spec of the computer.

    • Microsoft Windows 11, 10, 8.1, and 7 with a 64-bit version required

    • A minimum of 4GB RAM
